Woods and
Acrylics
The best way to show the many types of wood that can be turned is to send you to a site that will show examples and where the woods are from. A site I use is The Wood Database
Some woods I prefer not to use based on the machining and finishing difficulty and availability.
My current “stock” of pen blanks from left to right are:
Beli (similar to Zebra wood), Canary wood, Marble, Curly Maple, Cocobolo two-tone, Peruvian Walnut, American Walnut, Goncalo Alves, African Padauk, Bethlehem Olivewood, Mahogany, Purpleheart, Blackwood, Spalted Tamarind dyed orange, (Ash and Cherry not pictured) and Deer Antler (real deer antler!)
Some acrylics I have currently. There are MANY different colors and designs available.
