Turning Tools I use
My Lathe is a Penn State Industries Turncrafter Commander 10 in. Variable Speed Midi Lathe.
It’s been a beast! Very happy with it so far. I’m sure one day I’ll upgrade but this has been doing the job well.
I have 2 lathe chucks. The Barracuda2 Chuck from Penn State ( PSI ) for short, which is a 3 1/2 inch chuck. It came with 2" Round Jaws, Step Jaws, Pen Blank Drilling Jaws, and Screw Chuck. This is my main workhorse chuck.
I recently picked up a WEN 2 3/4” chuck and a set of jaws that are longer for it. Yes, it’s an inexpensive chuck, and I’ll upgrade that as well some day. I’ll be using this chuck for small turnings.
The next primary chuck I have is a keyless drill chuck by Wood River that attaches to the lathe tailstock.
I have a number of different “chucks” as well for turning bottle stoppers, and closed end projects like bottle openers.
I have my heart set on getting this chuck next, but at $430, it’s going be awhile!
